Candy Sorting Mats

**Clown mat for Skittles is shown**

Scroll to the bottom to see the other designs that are available.
These sorting mats are designed to be used with either M&Ms, Skittles
or Kissable Candy packs.  To play print the mat of your choice.  If you
want to reuse them, laminate them.
For the color mats:  Give each child a mat and a pack of candy.  Have
them put the candies on the corresponding color on the mat.  When
they are done have them make observations..."I didn't have enough
yellow ones."  "I had two extra red ones." "I need two more red
candies to complete my picture.", etc.  Then the children can eat
the candies.
For the black and white mats:  Give the children each a mat, candies
and crayons.  Have them sort the candy.  Then have them color the
mat according to the spaces and candies they have.  If they have six
yellow candies have them color the space yellow and then put the
candies on the spaces.  See if they can use all of their candies to
complete the picture.
These activities are great for a party day.  The kids can learn while having a treat.
