Flowers From Straws Art Idea

This project is much cuter than the photo shows.
Purchase brightly colored straws.  Give the children straws, glue, scissors and a large sheet of construction paper.  Have the children cut the straws in a variety of colors and lengths.  have the glue them to the paper to create a flower garden.  Children can create any type of picture using straws. 
This is a nice free art activity.
If you need to add math to the activity, give the children rulers and encourage them to cut pieces a specific length.
