Gingerbread House Shape Emergent Reader

Print the pages.  Have the children color the house.  Then give them
shaped scrapbook punches and construction paper scraps.  Have the children punch the shapes of their choice.  Have them glue them
to the house decoration it as they wish.
Once the house is decorated, have the children cut the reader pages apart.  Put the pages in a stack and staple them to the bottom of the main house page.  Have the children count the number of each type of shape and write the number on the appropriate page.  On the last
page, the children will count the total number of shapes and write
that number in the blank.
