Monkeys on Bed Circle Time Activity

Print either the color or the black and white version. 
If you print the black and white version, color the pieces. 
Cut the pieces out and laminate them.  Use an exacto knife to cut the dotted rectangle out.  Get a paint stick from your local paint store.
Sherwin Williams has been excellent with providing paint sticks.  Just tell the salesperson at the counter that you are an early childhood educator and they
will probably give them to you for free.  Slide the paint stick into the rectangle. 
You can move it up and down simulating a jumping motion.  Lay the bed with the stick in it onto a table.  Lay the monkeys onto the stick making sure they
 all fit.  Take adhesive back velcro and put one side on the stick and one side
on the monkey.  Now you are ready to use it.  During circle time put all the monkeys on the paint stick.  Put the paint stick in the bed. 

Then say the following rhyme:

There were (five) little monkeys jumping on the bed
one fell off and bumped his head.
Momma called the doctor and the doctor said'
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed."

Remove a monkey and continue with the next verse.
