Pinecone Owl

When you are out on a nature walk, let each child collect a pine cone.
When you get back, give them construction paper scraps and wiggly eyes
 to create their own special owl.  You can also provide cotton balls or fiber
 fill scraps to stretch around the pinecone.  That will make the owls look like
baby owls with their downy feathers.
If you want to hang them in your room or on a tree branch, you can
attach a piece of fishing line to each owl.
