Doggie in the Window Money Fun
Print, cut and laminate. Bring the four or fewer children together. Give each child 10
pennies. Tell them that their job is to buy puppies from the pet shop. Lay the puppies in the middle of the table. Sing a line of “How Much is that Doggie in the Window.” Have the children take turns using their pennies to buy a dog. As the game continues children
have to count their pennies and decide if they have enough money to purchase a dog.
This is a nice beginning money activity that helps children realize they need the right
amount of money to purchase something. It is also a good exercise in cardinality.
