Sight Word Activity for a Polar Theme
This activity is designed to represent an ice fisherman catching fish.
Take an empty cereal box. Clean out the center and close the box.
Spray paint it white. If you want, you can paint a light blue part to represent the cleaned off portion of water. After it is dry, cut a hole in the center. Print the fisherman and the fish sight words of your choice. Cut the fish apart. Put them in the hole. Attach the fisherman to the box. Have the children pick out a fish and read the sight word. If they get the word right, they keep it. If they get it
wrong, they throw the fish back into the "water".
