Pumpkin Shape Activity
Here is something easy to plan to reinforce shapes and counting.
Give the children a sheet of orange construction paper. Have them round the corners to make it into a pumpkin shape. Then print the attached paper with shapes onto yellow
construction paper. Have the children cut out whatever shapes they want and make a face on the pumpkin. After they are finished decorating the pumpkin have them count the number of each type of shape they have and fill in the attached sheet. You can display
the pumpkins along with the phrase Pumpkins of many shapes and sizes. You can also
graph the results and find out whose pumpkin has the most circles, etc.
