Stenciled Heart Valentine

Purchase paper doily hearts.  The ones shown are about 3.5" x3.5".  Cut a piece of white
construction paper in half.  Fold the pieces in half to make a card.  Lay a paper stencil on the front dab with paint and a stencil brush.  Carefully lift the stencil to show a heart.  After it
is dry, have the children write a message inside.  If you are doing this with young children
you may want to use bingo markers instead of paint.
The stencils are available at Wal-Mart as well as craft stores.
Each year, we make these and send them to our local congressmen encouraging them to support early childhood education.
