Weaved Basket Hot Air Balloon

       

Cut a 7 x 9 piece for the basket.  Round two of the bottom corners.  Fold it in half so the two rounded corners are touching.  Cut into the fold toward the open end leaving one inch not cut.  Cut more strips so they are about one inch
 apart.  Cut one inch strips that are one inch wide.  Have the children
weave the pieces into the basket.  Give each child a 12 x12 inch piece of paper.  Have the children round the corners.  Give each child a 2 x 8 inch
rectangle.  Have them cut it in half.  Now have them cut each of them in half making four strips.  Let them use scraps of construction paper to decorate the balloon.
