Sink and Float with Sea Turtles

   


Print the pattern.  Trace onto fun foam and cut it out.  Cup out one cup of a styrofoam egg carton.
Make sure the edges are smooth.  Hot glue styrofoam egg cup to the turtle making a "shell".  Have the children
predict if their turtle will sink of float.  Chart the results on the printable chart below.

Have the children float their turtles in the water.  Under the bed plastic totes work well for this if
you don't have a sand and water table.

For an added activity.  Give each child a straw.  Have them blow through the straw towards their turtle to get the turtle to move.
